Apparently there is no supply "shortage" and never has been - every MF in the world is still driving everywhere every day. Traffic is heavier than ever.

The way I see it, who is going to make any long term investments in oil/gas technologies or infrastructure knowing that the government has declared war on their industry?

If gas was at 2.50$ a gal the electric car makes no sense but at 5-6 a gal you are now even with the electric car.
and believe me this is how much the electric car is going to cost you.
I just read a story on this and what I said is pretty much it. Car can cost you 75 grand by the time you get the charging system and you will need 220 for this that 110 is not going to do it. Plus you are going to pay a nice hefty price for plates each year to pay for the rd. In 10 years you will need a new battery for 10 grand it will take you 7 years to pay off the new car then in 3 years you get to buy a new battery. There is not much savings here folks.

we are going to have to mine a boatload of copper and what about that environmental impact.
Great idea electric car but the way it is going to be brought in to us is just plain stupid.

And that industry will fight back; right now its best way to fight is apply pressure to the motorists and hope they vote with their wallets. (Meanwhile, the party who fights petroleum is seeking not only to defeat petroleum but to replace it with alternative energy, expecting loyalty, support and fealty from it).
GM (gm), Ford and Stellantis (ask your doctor..) are trying to pivot to electric (at least they’re making a good show of it) and play both sides of the street, but petroleum isn’t able to.

Agree,...with the big 3 already committed to full electric production and increase to 50% of volume by 2030,.....I don't see how one could not see the inevitable,...they want gasoline phased out sooner than later,...hell look at the battery market for lawn equipment it's Goin crazy,..there are electric zero turn mowers out now. Gas will priced in a way to push people to make the switch to electric,....the government doesn't and has never come at you fave first yo get what they want they go in the back door and wear thick socks so most people don't see what's happening till its too late

I'm sure the oil execs have PLENTY of pull in Washington and will fill the pockets of whoever can be bought which is most all politicians,...but the electric guts are doing the same,...who has more money???? Will the politicians just drain both pools making empty promises to other parties????

Gas stations are already putting in charging stations and more and more retailers are also,....it's coming faster than we think,..the whole "cash gor clunkers" will be here again soon,.."turn in that polluting gas guzzler for a coupon worth $10k towards the purchase of an electric vehicle",....and people will be hauling them in like pop bottles

I agree with you, Ethan, except I would add that oil wants friendly faces in Washington and see ‘22 and ‘24 as great chances to send friends there and will boul us a little to do it. They know friends cost a lot less than enemies, and if high gas prices put those friends in, that’s a win-win; they get profits and control. The party that hates oil is trying to buy themselves a supporting industry with taxpayer money. Either way, it’s our money, but in the long run I’d rather trust a business to use it wisely than the goverment. At least the business has to answer to stockholders with real reports full of math. The government?

Need to find a new home heating fuel company. I checked the one I currently use and their price is 6.98 gallon. I can go to the gas station and buy diesel cheaper, and that has all the road and sales tax on it. I think they are ripping people. Checked the COD oil price and it is 5.49.

This is one of my gas pumps, my dad had one similar but it had another slot cut in for the $1 amount.

I remember that. I worked at a gas station when gas first went over $1 a gallon. I sure hope that they won't have to buy new pumps because the current pumps can't go high enough!

Way to go Briz. Sounds like something I might do. My wife tells me to just walk away. Sometimes you just can’t. She got me this T shirt:

I never liked that cheap gas. My car just runs better on the expensive stuff.

Gas was 4.37 for regular and 5.03$ for premium. NE. Ohio. Well I guess the economy is going to come to a screeching halt.
how long can anybody sustain this mess. If you drive a pickup truck and have to drive 40 miles to work you are totally screwed. I have a Ford F150 with the 5.0 Coyote motor and my avg. was 18 mpg over the weekend. I put 150$ yesterday to fill it up then I filled up 3-5 gal cans for lawnmower and the bill was at 200.00$$$$$$ total

Local station clerk told me earlier this morning that they made 50c per gal last month,...said they normally only profit 25 to 30,...plus the state and government taxes put on it,....
