John Fritz, your bird videos are the best!!! They both cracked me up, but the turkey one was so real. I mentioned in a previous post about owning 2 geese many years ago. They did NOT like Jane. She'd go out in the backyard to sun, and those birds pecked her back into the house. Good job Sir!
Whew! I've made it almost 24 hours with them already. I did stay up late drinking with the cackling brother in law which allowed me to sleep on till 10:45 this morning. So I seriously cut my time with them in half. Nice!
Today is the screech owls birthday. We're having a big family BBQ so that will also bring down my chances of having to listen to her. I just have to think smart!
For all you sadistic people, I want you to know I had an awesome day and an awesome night. I took the cackling brother-in-law for a Sandrail ride down A1A by the beaches. We drank some beer and saw some hot chicks with nice butts. Came home and the crowd started gathering. Grandkids are the best. They take all the eyes off of what we were doing. We cooked up ribs on the barbecue grill, and had a small bonfire going in the X barbecue grill. And now it is all quiet inside the house. I'm drinking a beer by myself, which I love to do. Listening to good rock 'n' roll by the way.
Whoa, I just had a half hour talk with the screech owl. Very interesting. You may not know it but she actually likes to work. I told her we're going to have to vacuum and clean up the house tomorrow because of all the food and people in and out. The best part was telling her about our 2 1/2 inch to 3 inch cockaroaches. She freaked. Now maybe she knows what I'm dealing with when they're here. She said she is going to help me clean the house tomorrow. Holy sheet! Maybe I won her over? You know, life is messed up sometimes.
You may not know this, but Dick got really old in the past year. I am sure he has erectile dysfunction. We damn near smoke dope right in front of him and he doesn't even notice. LMAO
The Florida name for a Cockroach is the Palmetto Bug; they are plentiful, so I think that southerners came up with a nicer name for them. They also fly very fast. They won't bite you, but if one flys into you at full speed it sure will hurt.
Yep, I knew a kind lady in ‘Charston, South Care-lina’ who was a native. She called roaches ‘wutterbuuggs’. If you were being more specific they were ‘pal-metta buuggs’. RIP Mrs. Ruth. Patrick
First good news. They don't smell like they did last year! They had some funk when they showed up! Apparently I lied. I am not a liar. When I said I talk to Jane last night, and I did, she said she would help me vacuum up the place and start walking out in the yard first thing in the morning checking in sand. She did none of those things. She is the liar!
Yes, I took out all the throw rugs from the kitchen and entryway, shook them out. Then I vacuumed the entire house. Even took a washcloth and wiped up the food off of the floor. This is only day two. I can only get angrier!
Yesterday I told her exactly what she does every single morning. She steps out of the porch, walks to the backyard, and steps in the sand. Then she walks in the house. She said, "No, I wipe my feet off." This morning I literally watched her do exactly what she said she doesn't do, and with the crunchy sandy sound on her shoe bottoms, she walked right in the house. I should kill her! I set up a trap now. She can't make it to the backyard now and get sand on her shoes first thing in the morning!
John, I am sorry you have to deal with the penguins to entertain me. This is my favorite thread, I wait for penguin season to arrive it so entertaining. Jim
Day 3... I haven't woke up early enough to see where the screech owl is eating her morning bagel. Last year I told her to eat at the table. Is she? IDK My son and I are taking the hyena boating this morning. It is a nice day down here.
I'm still thinking about the bathroom rug. It's only been barely 3 days. I could still save it from Jane's nasty grey hair. I like that rug. Stress!!!
