I cut two threads off that center bolt. Makes the job two full turns less.:D

Lol, you have a point there Mart!
The downside to that is hanging the header on that bolt and the bolt being able to hold it with enough thread engagement, I’d or pissed if that bolt popped out or started cross threading.

Lol, I got the pass. side in position last nite, gonna do the left side after work, just get it hung into position, then do the gaskets and tighten ‘er up Saturday morning.
    I don’t wanna aggravate myself;)

Got the drivers side in and tightened, at least tomorrow morning I won’t get aggravated HAHA.
I’m not sure disconnecting the steering shaft gave me anymore wiggle room, maybe an inch, not easy to dis or reconnect either.

That's why I trim the casting blocks off,....it makes header installation MUCH EASIER

IMG_0971.jpeg IMG_0970.jpeg I stripped the tiny threads on the “S” terminal on my mini starter, ooooops.
I figured I could replace the stud with a small threaded screw, NOPE!
I bought this starter from DB Electrical, I believe it’s a PG 260, works great, no issues, BUT when I removed the solenoid I saw plastic parts. IIRC TA mentioned their (one of their) mini starters is like this one but has metal components where this one uses plastic.
Just a heads up on the PG 260, yes it’s a mini starter, but it’s no heavy duty unit.

I’m going to quote you again:p
Yes it’s tight on the right side too, if I didn’t have a mini starter I’d have to buy one, no way a stocker is going to fit after header install.
I’ve never bitched about newer cars being tight under the hood, most old cars aren’t any better, ESPECIALLY when you start dicking around adding non stock parts, LOL

Definitely slot the lower center bolt hole on the left header, it was a cakewalk installing them, and the Fel Pro gaskets for iron manifolds worked great!

I SHOULD have compared the smaller tube headers to these, never did before I sold them to 73 GS

I installed the dipstick tube, I know I put 5 quarts in the SRE ole pan, didn’t even register on the stick lolol, guess I’m going to have to find a longer stick.

    Add more quarts. :)

With a pan that big, you should be able to add enough until it at least registers on the stick. That will ensure the pickup stays covered and provide cooler oil since there is more of it to spread around.

Steve told me to run 7 qts in my pan, I think it's pretty much the same as yours!

I used a Lokar cut to length stick, and set it so that 7 reads full.

You wont need a longer stick, at 6 qts I am a qt+ low on the stick. It takes 7 in mine to get to full mark on stick but who needs that I run 6 and always have
4qts 10-30 and 2qts 15-50 when I ran Mobil 1 the 15-50 has more of the zinc in it

I am using the Br40 10w-40 Driven oil rt now for cam break in and oil pressure is real good 55 at 2500 rpm goes to 20 when hot and in drive with 190* engine temp.
When I ran 3 qts of each it was too much oil pressure it would go to 100 at 1000-1200 rpm the mix keeps it at 80 at 1000 rpm

Worry more about that pan that sticks below that frame especially if you have to let some boso drive your car for any reason like getting front end lined up where they may run into something. I already see where something scraped the frame there on yours.
Mine sticks down farther and my car is lowered some
