I'm not a big fan of JB Weld in a continuous fuel contact situation. It will most likely not last very long. Am I seeing the picture correctly, you JB welded the copper to Rob's pick-up tube? Is that a sweat or JB Weld on the elbow? I thought yoose guys down dare were good plummers?

The pic appears to show virgin tubes of JB Weld.:puzzled:

    Photo shoot JB Weld LOL!

Looks like JB Weld where the sender meets the copper, and something that is suppose to show how NOT to sweat copper pipes on the elbow. :Dou:

Still, JB Weld submerged in gasoline is a very bad idea IMO. That gunk can end up in the carb and make for a bad day.

I also use a 1/2" RobbMc sender and JW modified CV Products fuel pump in my convertible. I know I modified the sender, but I can't for the life of me remember how I did it. I think I did that about 5 or 6 years ago.

    Bob,
We did solder the elbow to the copper pipe, but the Robb Mc pick up tube is some sort of aluminum, and we could not get the solder to stick to it now matter what we did. So I used JB Weld to attach the elbow to the pick up tube. It is fully cured, and according to the JB Weld site, it is completely resistant to gasoline once cured.

The Waterweld, and Quik stick will actually cure submerged in water or gasoline, and that is what I read when I clicked on the links for them. I'm not worried about it being submerged in gasoline. No, it isn't pretty, but it is solid, and no one will ever see it after it goes in the tank:grin:
