I told you the old car dealers trick Kerosene not a lot try it on a small spot it softens the old lacquer Merry Christmas 2 Thumbs
Ran like a watch last night. Put about 100 miles on it without one hiccup. Heat works great, running at 180 and a little over 50lbs of oil pressure cruising down the highway . Its happy!
Hmmm.....not quite yet. I really got it dialed in but there still quite a few more projects I need to tackle. Just off the top of my head, the shocks need to be painted shock gray and Caruso's lower shock mounts need to get installed. Still need to remove all the silver spray paint on the shifter linkage and paint the crossmember detail gray. But yeah, its getting there
Santa delivered a quartz conversion for 508's rallye clock. It's converted over and it's being tested for 24 hours
Picked up that same brand conversion for the clock in the GS400, when I had the dash apart last year. Works fantastic and seems pretty accurate!
The shocks in the X are Gabriel Ultra gas charged. I was going to just take them out, clean them up and paint them. But seemed a little slow to extend after compressing them. So....rock auto delivered a new set of AC Delcos. Once I paint them gray and install the Caruso performance lower shock mounts, they'll look NOS! And they'll probably look even better after they age a little
I got some advice from a detailer friend of mine. Says to use a product from superior products called "cover all". He says to spray it on a sponge and wipe it on. I have some on order. It's a silicone based dressing. I tried putting some wax on them and they did perk up a little. Made them blacker. They almost looked gray
